31 Days in My [Insert Label Here] Skin:

[ G R A T E F U L ]

Today I am grateful for:

Sunny days

Fall colors

Great friends

A hike in the hills

Transparent, “really real” conversations with safe people

Tears that bring healing and a sense of freedom

A cozy bed

A working vehicle

Healthy pets

Dirt, shade trees, and the smell of rain

Air conditioning (especially when it’s still hot in October!)

Coffee with french vanilla creamer

Scones of all sorts

Smiling strangers

Friends who hug tight

How God takes broken, jacked up situations and somehow brings beauty out of them

A quiet house in the early morning

The vibrant colors at sunrise

A striking sunset with “cloud art” displayed

An obligation-free morning

Inspiring & educational podcasts

Playing board games with my 4-year old

Time to study & write & ponder

Painting (why don’t I ever do this anymore?)

The smell of Buckshot the horse

The sound of genuine, from-the-gut laughter

A call or handwritten note from my husband “just because”

Freedom from what used to paralyze or terrify me

Kona, Hawaii

Chalkboard art

Cozy blankets

Time with in-laws

Jeans that fit

Photo albums

The questions preschoolers ask

Thought-provoking conversations with my middle-schoolers

Snuggling up on my children’s beds when they’re supposed to be falling asleep but we just want to talk instead

Little House on the Prairie

My laptop

Bibles that don’t have pages falling out of them

Deep breaths (why don’t I do that more often?)

Brand new journals

Puppy breath

Dogs twitching in their sleep

Lacey curtains

Hearing people’s life stories

White twinkle lights

Reading my daughters’ writings

My husband’s hands

Psalm 28:7

“The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.”
